Final Reflection

This semester has been one heck of a ride, from the assignments to my personal life. I don't regret one minute of it, I loved seeing my peers assignments and ideas, such as Emma Friedman's and Michael Hwang. I read most, if not all of their assignments, I really do hope they continue with their ventures. I would love to see them advertised and used in the future.  I proud that throughout all the work and other classes I'm taking I am finishing this class with a good grade and evolved as a person. I can now look at an object and notice what I can do to help that company get the correct target and grow. This class also helped me come out of my shell and push me to speak up about ideas in my work life, and produce a better product for our consumers.  For those entering the class, don't be too nervous. I know it seems like a lot of work and thought but have fun with your concepts and you'll really enjoy the class. Think freely, be open to changes with your initial idea,...

Opportunity  The opportunity I have pushed this semester is larger pants pockets with a durable thin pocket fabric, thus helping those who have their hands full to have the space to carry their items, or for those who use pockets to paint or garden, the ideas for the use are endless for the new consumers. The company will be called "The Perfect Size", not only for the pockets but because the pants, shorts, skirts, etc. will help make the consumer feel beautiful and comfortable in the fabric. However the pants are not the opportunity, the pockets will be advertised the most, which will create consumers to look my way. Women have dealt with small pockets, no pockets, pockets that are too big and bunch in a weird way, that's the reason for my design. Women should not have to wear mens shorts or pants to have the same space capacity, they should have comfortable bottoms and all the same amount of space, especially when we carry "more small items" than men, most of t...

Exit Strategy

1.  I personally will stay in business for a few decades to continue to promote mental health and share comfortable, affordable jeans to all. At the moment, I don't plan on having children but if I did, and only if they wanted to they could take over the company, maybe when I'm around 40-50, early retirement to start something new or create for the company from the side. If I don't pass it down to my children, then I would be heavily involved in the hiring process for a new lead, if I don't already have a trusty assistant or finance partner. 2. I chose this because, if I sold the company to some larger produce, such as Levi's, they could and most likely would change the brand and price. I want to be able to spread awareness as well as give comfortability as well as those larger pockets to anyone. Thus selling it to someone else, they may keep the pockets but change the meaning behind the jeans themselves. 3. To be honest I didn't think of an exit strategy when I...

Celebrating Failure

During this semester I really messed up, I accidentally hit my boyfriends car with my car. And if you know me I love cars, I hate to see any of them rust or have dents, it hurts my soul. We just got into the new house a few days ago, and set up a ping pong table in the garage. Once we were done, we wanted to roll it out of the way so we could park inside, of course, so I needed to roll forward some to have the space to roll the ping pong table to the correct side. Unfortunately, when I was rolling out, Kyle had opened his door, but I rolled out when it was closed. Any who I creased his door, and I had to buy a completely new bumper! Everything is fixed and looks better than before, but I had never felt like such an idiot and a failure in my head. I was in shock for a few hours, I never thought I would damage our cars even if I didn't intentionally mean to, it threw me for a loop.  What I learned from this, is that Kyle really knows how to calm me down, when I'm panicking, but t...

Your Venture's Unfair Advantage

1. Knowledge of Sewing and Fabric     Having this knowledge allows me to be step above some because I can create this product by myself, allowing it  to start as a one man band. Giving myself more profit to create a faster and better product line. It also allows me to know what fabric will fit well in the pants, and feel the best for the consumer, as well as be sturdy enough for wear and tear. I would not have to use anyone to start the product, I have the knowledge to start, which some people enjoy seeing the younger generation create something for themselves, and then share with the world.  2. Business Major     This gives me an advantage because the classes so far have taught me how to manage myself and others correctly and  efficiently. As well as this, it has given me more knowledge about industries and how each can fluctuate, giving me an idea of how I should introduce the new product. 3. Having a Create Mindset     ...

Idea Napkin No. 2

1. Not much has changed since in this part since the first Napkin, however my computer capabilities will help grow the business or paten, for the pockets. If this business succeeds, I believe it will become my career. If large brands want to buy and use my fabric and pattern for their needs, then the company would go worldwide. Allowing me to meet and see new people and places, like many in the fashion industry.  2. Not only am I providing larger more durable pockets, I would also provide style and comfort. As mentioned in the comments in the first Napkin, not all pockets are the same size across the board, some are larger than others, and there are some pants with no pockets (fake pockets) at all.  3. Unfortunately, because of being such a broad industry and fashion norms are constantly changing, I do not have a specific demographic, because some may use these pockets for space, or create a new style with the pockets hanging out of the shorts. It can go anywhere, I started wi...
